Terms of Service

Welcome to noddle — an AI diagram workspace built and operated by a solo founder. These terms are written to be read, not to scare you. By creating an account or using noddle you agree to them.

1. The service

noddle lets you create, edit, and share diagram boards; collaborate in real time; use AI features to generate and edit boards; and export your work (SVG, PNG, GIF, Mermaid, Board JSON). Guests can view and comment on boards shared with them by link, without an account.

2. Your content is yours

You keep all rights to the boards, images, and text you create or upload. You grant noddle only the license needed to host, process, display, and back up that content so the service can work — nothing more. Boards are exportable on every plan; your data is never held hostage.

You are responsible for what you upload. Don’t upload content you don’t have the right to share, and don’t use noddle to store or distribute unlawful content.

3. AI features

AI features (board generation, image conversion, the Claude co-editor) send only the content you explicitly submit to an AI model for processing (see the Privacy Policy). AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or oddly laid out — review it before relying on it. AI usage is metered in ✦ credits according to your plan; if you connect your own API key (BYOK), usage is billed by your provider instead and never consumes credits.

4. Accounts and acceptable use

Keep your credentials and API tokens secret; you’re responsible for activity under them. Don’t abuse the service: no attempts to break authentication or access other people’s private boards, no disrupting the real-time infrastructure (including the team games — they’re refereed server-side for a reason), no reselling the service, and no illegal use.

5. Payments, plans, cancellation

Paid subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record — their terms apply to the purchase itself, and refunds follow our Refund Policy. You can cancel anytime: your paid tier stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, then the account falls back to Free limits. Downgrading never deletes your boards.

6. Availability and support

noddle is built by one person. It aims for reliability, ships weekly, and keeps an honest changelog — but it is provided “as is”, without uptime guarantees or warranties of fitness for a particular purpose. Back up anything critical using the export features. Support: contact page.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, noddle’s total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. noddle is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for decisions made based on AI-generated output.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time via support. noddle may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical. On termination you get a reasonable window to export your boards, except in cases of serious abuse.

9. Changes

These terms may change as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced on the site and in the changelog before they take effect. Continuing to use noddle after that means you accept the updated terms.
